Current Wyoming flag
Wyoming has a decent flag hiding under a horribly complicated and poorly placed seal. The heart of the design is strong, but the seal overwhelms it. Like many others, it also relies on a red, white, and blue palette simply because it's an American state.
Design and symbolism
My redesign removes the seal and retains the core design. I have also replaced the red, white, and blue with brown and gold, creating a palette more closely connected to Wyoming's landscape and identity.
The bison
The bison silhouette is retained as the central symbol of Wyoming, reflecting the animal's importance to the state's identity and history.
The landscape
Brown represents Wyoming's earth and rugged landscape, while gold evokes the state's open plains and abundant sunlight.
Wyoming's identity
The brown and gold palette moves the flag away from generic national colors and toward a visual identity rooted specifically in Wyoming.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout Australia on which these federal divisions are drawn and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.
