Rhode Island state flag redesign
Evolution
Current Rhode Island flag
Rhode Island's existing flag has a simple, recognizable design, but the gold anchor and stars lack contrast against the white field, making them difficult to distinguish from a distance. The "Hope" banner adds further clutter.
Design and symbolism
My redesign turns the gold anchor blue and outlines the stars in blue to improve contrast against the white field. I also remove the "Hope" banner, leaving the anchor and thirteen stars to stand on their own.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout Australia on which these federal divisions are drawn and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.
