Oregon state flag redesign
Evolution
Current Oregon flag
Oregon already possesses the foundation of an awesome, unique flag, but the design is undermined by a horrible seal on the front.
Design and symbolism
I have turned the design around, making the beaver the primary symbol. I also introduced green and gold stripes across the bottom of the flag.
The beaver
The beaver is retained and enlarged as the primary symbol of Oregon, reflecting its status as the state's official animal and its importance to Oregon's history.
The landscape
The green and gold represent Oregon's forests and beaches, reflecting the state's contrasting natural landscapes.
The Oregon Trail
The stripes also represent the Oregon Trail and its importance in the state's history.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout Australia on which these federal divisions are drawn and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.
