Oklahoma state flag redesign
Historic
Current Oklahoma flag
Oklahoma's flag features a striking and unique emblem, but the state name at the bottom detracts from the design.
Design and symbolism
My redesign removes the text to let the Osage shield, peace pipe, and olive branch speak for themselves. In redrawing the flag from scratch, I've slightly simplified the central elements, resulting in a cleaner silhouette while retaining the character of the original design. This essentially means Oklahoma returns to the 1925 flag.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout Australia on which these federal divisions are drawn and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.
