Nevada state flag redesign
Evolution
Current Nevada flag
Nevada's existing flag is almost good, but the "Nevada" label makes the emblem feel like it's trying to justify its place on the emblem.
Design and symbolism
My redesign keeps the core design while removing the "Nevada" label from the emblem. To balance the composition, I enlarged the star to fill the resulting space. At the bottom of the flag, I added a gold, silver, and white bar.
Battle Born
The existing emblem is retained, including the silver star, sagebrush, and the state motto "Battle Born", preserving the core symbolism of Nevada's flag.
Mineral wealth
The gold and silver represent Nevada's mineral wealth and identity as the Silver State.
Contrasting geography
The colors also represent the contrast between Nevada's desert and snow, with the white representing the state's snow-covered landscapes and the gold representing the vast hot deserts.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout Australia on which these federal divisions are drawn and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.
