Design and symbolism

Nebraska’s original seal ranks among the most complicated and monochrome of the "seal on a bedsheet" designs. I’ve replaced that clutter with twelve long, sharp golden spikes against a dark navy blue field. These spikes represent the wheat fields and the vast, open spaces of the state.This geometric approach transforms the flag into a bold, recognizable icon of Nebraska's agricultural landscape.
