Montana state flag redesign
RedesignDesign and symbolism
Montana’s original flag plasters a large name tag across a cluttered seal. I’ve discarded that look to evoke the spirit of "Big Sky Country" through a palette of blue, gold, and white. Gold mountains ground the design, while white sections above them represent the snow. A central bitterroot adds a unique and distinctive element that ensures the design remains unmistakable. The blue field captures the vastness of the Montana sky. This transition moves away from a generic label and toward a powerful visual identity.
