Georgia state flag redesign
EvolutionDesign and symbolism
Georgia doesn't even try to hide the flag is essentially a state version of the Confederate Stars and Bars. My redesign steps it back from the confederacy, removing the 13 stars as there's no need for a federal symbol. I retain the golden arch from the state seal in it's current form, including all the text. This is essentially the main symbol of Georgia, and simplification makes it unrecognisable. To further differentiate, the canton expands to the whole hoist. The fly side consists of seven alternating red and white horizontal stripes. The four red stripes signify Georgia's status as the fourth state to ratify the Constitution. The three white stripes represent the three signers of the Declaration of Independence from Georgia, while also echoing the three pillars of the state's government.
