Queensland 2025 redistribution

The redistribution of Queensland officially commemced on 28 July 2026. Electoral data are expected to be available in September, on the day public suggestions are announced. In the meantime, I have launched the interactive redistribution tool. The population data for Queensland is outdated, based on the original 2018 redistribution, and currently missing some data where SA1 boundaries and regions have changed.

Deferral of the 2025 Queensland redistribution

The Australian Electoral Commission deferred the 2025 Queensland redistribution on 28 Match 2015, due to proximity of the general election in May 2025.

A further deferral was announced on 12 August 2025, following the first sitting of parliament due to the possibility that Queensland would gain an additional seat in the entitlement determination.

On 23 July 2026, the Australian Electoral Commissioner completed the entitlement determination, and established that Queensland continues to be entitled to 30 seats.
